So we have decided that Kylee's first words are "yumm, yumm." Ok, so it really sounds like "mmm, mmm," but since she tries to mimic our "yumm, yumm" we decided that's what she was saying.
She has learned what clap means and every time we say it she puts her hands together and claps once or twice. She also likes to give high fives and she loves to show off. As soon as everyone is looking at her she will start to perform or make noises to tell us stories.
She learned to crawl about a week-and-a-half ago too. Her crawl has evolved from hands and knees-bum-turn-hands and knees, to hands and knees-push with one foot-drag the other leg. It is quite entertaining to watch but she can get where she wants to go pretty fast.
She has her two bottom front teeth started but they are taking forever to come in. You can just see the two little lines where they are starting to come through the gums. I personally wish babies were born with teeth so that we, as parents, didn't have to go through the drama of teething.
Other than that, she is one happy little girl who loves to smile. And when she does, you can't help but smile back. That's what I love about babies...their innocent love.

Just some updated pics of Kylee. The picture of her in the walker she discovered the handles on the cupboard doors and was trying to take them with her as she walked around in her walker. It was really funny at the time. She can't crawl yet, but she is really good at squealing with delight whenever she sees Grandma. She will be 7 months tomorrow and is already pretty good at recognizing people (as she screams whenever we hand her over to a "stranger").

The look on Kylee's face when we tried to feed her some cereal was too funny to not get on video.

Kylee finally found her voice! (You know, the one that doesn't involve the screaming and the running!) She can talk to herself for about 5 minutes before she decides that she has had enough of her own voice. (Then comes the screaming and the running.) Pretty soon she'll be talking up a storm and we won't be able to get her to stop. But for now, we are enjoying her little bird sounds.

Sorry it's crooked. This is a video of the first time Kylee tried out her new crib. I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't look at the mobile, but then I realized that she was watching the shadows. How funny. I guess that's just as good as the real thing!

Dad teaching Kylee all about computers...ok, not really. Dad just wanted to chill with Kylee for a while. Sooo cute!

Kylee on her blessing day...Garth said that she was asleep until Joel started the blessing. Then she opened her eyes and looked right up at him. She stared at him the whole time and when he held her up for everyone to see at the end, she was still looking at him. That was a pretty neat experience. Neat for Joel to be able to bless her too. Thanks to everyone for their support!

Mouse?

I had to take this picture because I was watching her play by herself one night and was struck by this image...it reminded me of a mouse. I think it's the eyes.

Hello Everybody!

Ok, so I thought it was finally time to update this thing. These are just some pictures we had of the family. (More to come). Things are going pretty good. Kylee still cries all the time, but we are dealing with it. Grandma is a big help! So are aunt Bess and aunt Steff. Joel is about halfway done with this semester and may be taking summer semester off to do his internship (possibly with the INL). Then he only has 2 semesters left if we're lucky...yay! My online classes are comming along slowly, but I only have until october to finish so we'll see what happens. It's definately not as easy and fast as I thought it would be, but still not bad if I would just sit down and do it.

Kylee pics.

So this is our Kylee, born Jan. 3, 2009 at 12:42 pm. She weighed in at 8 lb 14 oz and has all fingers and toes at 21 ish inches. These are just a few of the pics we got at the hospital as everyone was exhausted. We plan on blessing her sometime in February, but don't have a date for sure. Everyone is home from the hospital and doing good...very undramaish. :)

Same old on yesterday's Dr. visit. No changes. So we are going to give it one week to see what happens and if nothing changes, he will start me next week.

Finally!...or not.

So the Dr. finally had something different to say yesterday. Instead of the usual, "Nope, no changes. You're doing fine. Come back in a week so I can tell you the same thing..." he told me that I have finally dialated to a 1. Then he took away the hope that this would soon be over by adding, "Come see us again next week." Stinker. I think he and the baby are in cahoots. :) Ok, so I am really excited that something has finaly changed even if it doesn't mean much. P.s. I am still really excited to see everyone this weekend.

Baby Update

So this is Kylie, haven't decided on spelling or middle name yet, at 20 weeks....about 18 weeks ago. (She kinda looks like an alien or a boxer.) I go to the Dr. tomorrow and we'll see what he says about me really having her on Christmas Day. I don't know how big she is now but she's still kicking so I take that as a good sign. And yes, I'm huge. Everyone says I look like I have a basketball attached to me except the Dr. who tells me that I'm "looking good...righ on schedule". :) I guess that's good. Bethany says she will come to the hospital and wait outside in case Joel passes out....(He laughed when I told him that and then he mentioned something about not being any different than delivering cows...he didn't see the double meaning behind that comment so I couldn't be mad at him. It was actually pretty funny. :)) Can't wait to see all the Colvin clan in 2 weeks! We finally got some snow today so it's actually starting to look kinda like Christmas so travel safely!
